The Ukrainian state-owned company “UKROBORONSERVICE” of Ukrspecexport won a contract to overhaul and upgrade 50 T-64BV-1 main battle tanks of an undisclosed country. It is understood that the fleet is to be modernized to the company’s current T-64BM Bulat standard.
The new standard remain armed with a 125 mm smoothbore gun, while it receives engine with increased power, NOZH explosive reactive armour modules, slat-armour, advanced fire control system, improved sight, active protection system, automatic loader, externally mounted fuel tanks, as well as advanced navigation and communication systems. Optionally, it can be fitted out with remotely controlled weapon station armed with a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun.
The T-64BV-1 vehicles were produced decades ago by what is now the Ukrainian state-owned company SE KMDB (State Enterprise Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau)
