(Infodefensa.com) E. Saumeth, Cartagena - The Armada of Colombia finalizing the details for the commissioning and delivery of its new logistic support vessel, the ARC 501 Juanchaco , boat type Swath (catamaran) built by Damen Shipyards Group , at its facilities in Singapore .
At present, the ARC 501 is in the final stages of testing and crew training, expected official release for Feb. 28.
The ARC Juanchaco , will be used to transport members of the Navy, Marine Corps and the Armed Forces , including the ports of Buenaventura and Bahía Málaga in the Colombian Pacific, so it will be highlighted in the Naval Force of the Pacific .
The ship has the capacity to carry up to 250 people, and three containers and aft crane for loading / unloading of supplies and cargo, and has been designed as a new logistics solution for the Navy in this region.
