The Swedish shipbuilder Saab Kockums and Dutch shipbuilder Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS) have set up a teaming agreement to jointly propose conventional attack submarine to the Netherland.

The Swedish shipbuilder Saab Kockums and Dutch shipbuilder Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS) have set up a teaming agreement to jointly propose conventional attack submarine to the Netherland. The Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) is looking to replace its Walrus-class submarine with new type. The submarines of Walrus-Class are currently being modernized by the Royal Netherland Navy shipyard in Den Helder, the Netherlands. The team will also explore ways in which they might bid jointly on other submarine procurement programmes.

Other nations worldwide are looking to procure submarines in including Norway, India, Taiwan and countries in the Middle East.

The Swedish procurement arm FMV earlier selected Saab Kockums to develop Sweden’s future attack submarine-
