The Spanish Ministry of Defense wants to have in the medium term strategic / operational capacity based remote unmanned aerial systems (RPAS). To do want to start the processes required to obtain strategic / operational systems that can enter service from 2017.

For a more comprehensive analysis of the sector in the RPAS document is structured into three types: Class I, which includes the micro, mini and small systems (less than 150 kg); Class II or tactical RPAS (between 150 and 600 kg) and Class III, which includes the major strategic / operational systems.

With respect to Class III, in the Master Plan outlined the need, by the Air Force, to have systems of this type, category MALE (medium altitude, long endurance), medium term, and by the Navy to have strategic / long-term operational capacity.
